The Cascade Amateur Radio Society is a club of Ham Radio operators committed to supporting the amateur radio hobby in the Portland / Vancouver Metro area and down the I-5 corridor to the Salem area. The mission of CARS can be summed up in these three main areas, well two areas and a rather broad everything else.
- Preparing amateur radio operators to provide emergency communications support to the relief efforts of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, governmental entities, private relief organizations regardless of affiliation, and to the community at large, during times of need.
- Training individuals to become licensed amateur radio operators, and existing hams to upgrade their license class.
- We are dedicated to the furtherance of Ham Radio as a hobby, including any of the 1001 different aspects of the general amateur radio hobby and other common communication interests of Society members.
Membership is open to all with an interest in radio communications (emergency and non-emergency) without discrimination relating to religion, race, gender, ethnic origin, or age. To join CARS please complete the CARS Membership Form and submit your dues payment to the club treasurer.
